How to Get Rid of Hemorrhoids
The cause of hemorrhoids is swollen veins in the rectum or around the anus.
The best way to treat hemorrhoids is to change your daily activities to address these common causes of hemorrhoids.
Constipation
This is usually caused by an insufficient quantity of fibre in the diet. When you increase your fibre intake be sure to drink more water.
Diet & Dehydration
Diet is one of the main contributing factors to causes of hemorrhoids. Too much processed food in the diet and not drinking enough fluids to maintain a healthy digestive system leads to constipation and hard stools. It is recommended to drink plenty of water and ingest fibre, such as bran and fruits, to soften the stools to prevent further damage to the rectal tissue.
Obesity
Overweight people tend to have a higher incidence of haemorrhoids symptoms due to poor diet, high blood pressure and lack of exercise. Eat unprocessed carbohydrates such as fruits and cereals to soften and bulk up the stools so they can be passed easier.
Lack of exercise
It is well known that people who have occupations where they sit for long periods of time and use their heads develop symptoms of hemorrhoids. Try to get out doors and walk for at least 30mins each day.
Anal sex
People who engage in anal sex have an increased risk of bleeding from hemorrhoids as they are adding increased friction and pressure to the delicate rectal membrane. This causes the veins to dilate, swell and bleed.
Genetics
Hemorrhoids can be inherited from your parents.
Pregnancy & Childbirth
It is common for women to develop hemorrhoids during pregnancy. Usually the symptoms of hemorrhoids disappear after child birth although it is also common for women to develop hemorrhoids after pregnancy as the hemorrhoids are triggered during child birth. The main cause of hemorrhoids is constipation and staining to pass stools. The risk is higher for pregnant women due to the additional pressure on the veins.
Modern toilets
There is strong evidence to show that one of the ways to treat haemorrhoids is to eliminate waste in a squatting position. The facts indicate that there is a much lower rate of symptoms of hemorrhoids in middle eastern and third world countries where squat toilets are used. This probably due to the bowel being more fully open and relaxed in a squat position. And this is how our ancestors did it before the modern toilet was invented.
